In Matthew 7, Jesus said, “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.” At The House, our passion is to study and follow God’s Word, the Bible, and worship Jesus, our solid rock.
Our approach to teaching can pretty much be summed up in Nehemiah 8:8: “They read from the Book of the Law of God and clearly explained the meaning of what was being read, helping the people understand each passage.”
Simple, authentic teaching. Wholehearted worship. Welcome to The House.
We are a young, scrappy start-up church. Bells and whistles are great, but we focus on the essentials:
At each of our gatherings, we’ll spend time worshiping Jesus, praying, and studying the powerful truth of His Word, the Bible. We’ll also ensure your kids, from newborns through 5th grade, are well cared for and taught about God, always pointing them to Him!
Other ministry areas? They will come as God leads us. We’re planning and praying through many important things as our church family grows at The House. But we’ll always keep the main thing the main thing.
Brian and Sarah McKenney have been a part of the Calvary Chapel community for over 20 years. They are the parents of seven (not a typo) children and are dedicated to raising Jesus followers in their home and inspiring the people of The House to live wholeheartedly for Jesus.
With a passion for pointing families to Jesus and gifting in leadership and organization on teams, Matt Moore is an integral part of our ministry at The House. Matt and Stephanie are the parents to four spectacular kids.
Numbers, math, details - if it stresses you out, Leslie loves it. Leslie and her husband, Brian, love family life with their two boys.
The following are the core beliefs of The House based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all.
We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired, without error in the original manuscripts, and the infallible rule of faith and practice.
We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through faith in Jesus Christ.
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We Believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings; His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal, visible return to earth. We Believe that Jesus Christ baptizes the seeking believer with the Holy Spirit and empowers the believers for service, often subsequent to regeneration.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ for ministry. We Believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide. We Believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all the biblical gifts of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that all people are sinners by nature and choice and, therefore, are under condemnation; that God regenerates by the Holy Spirit those who repent of their sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord.
We believe in the universal Church, in the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the Church: 1) baptism, and 2) the Lord’s Supper. We believe in baptism by immersion and communion, both of which are open to all believers in Jesus Christ. We Believe in what is termed the Apostles’ Creed as embodying the fundamental facts of Christian faith.
We believe in the personal, visible return of Christ to the earth and the establishment of His kingdom, in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment and eternal blessing of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked.
We believe in salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus was sent by God to save us and give us eternal life. Salvation is only possible through faith in Jesus and repentance of our sins. We understand that we are saved through grace and not by any works of our own. The Bible teaches us that no matter what mistakes we make, God’s love and grace are always available to us. We believe that through accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are able to have the assurance of salvation and the promise of eternal life with God.
We believe in the importance of baptism. Baptism symbolizes a believer's commitment to Jesus and His teachings, and is an outward act of confessing our faith in Him. We believe that baptism is essential to Christian discipleship, and it is a beautiful way to proclaim our allegiance to Jesus. Baptism is a sacred and meaningful experience, and we are deeply committed to helping believers celebrate this important milestone in their journey of faith. By celebrating and honoring baptism, we are proclaiming our faith in Jesus and our desire to serve Him and others.
